  • Use only companies or persons with good reputations and reliable references.
  • Have a background check performed on personnel if appropriate.
  • Do not permit any service personnel to enter the residence unless expected.
  • All service personnel should have an identification document provided by the company for which they work.
  • Make sure that domestic help is trained in the evacuation plan and CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation).
  • Never talk about sensitive subjects in the presence of the domestic help. This includes business and financial matters, family or company assets, personal problems, travel, etc.
  • Do not leave sensitive information that can easily be viewed or accessed by domestic help.
